I’m just back ftom vacation and had no problems with HereWeGo on Xperia 10 III - works as expected (and I already used it for years now under iOS, Android and now SFOS).

Same here for years throughout Europe.
Edit 20260816: With the Jolla 2026 Here Wego is sluggish at best. I am testing Pure Maps and I am happy so far.

I did about 9,000 km of testing with native Sailfish navigation over the last few weeks and haven’t really missed Android apps at all.

I stopped using Sailfish and Xperia 10 ii because navigation crashed in a few hours. Thus, navigation is very important feature to me. I tried briefly OSMScout and it seems good enough. Not best but good.

What do you mean by “native Sailfish navigation”? Which app are the screenshots you posted from? I’d love to replace any Android app with a native Sailfish OS app, whether for navigation or anything else, as long as it works as expected out of the box for a regular user.
He has made his own navigation app that cover only few states in the US at the moment.

It’s precisely meant to do that.
No api-keys, tts services or map server binaries etc. to install.
You install the app, optionally download map packages for offline use from a simple menu, and off you go.
Currently there’s only a very limited map coverage, but more maps will come eventually.

Exactly. Once Sailfish OS offers all the expected features working reliably out of the box, we’ll finally be able to show off the Jolla Phone and confidently RECOMMEND it to family, friends, colleagues…

yeah it would be nice if Jolla could at least opensource the old native HERE UI, because I dont think they could afford (yet) the API licence or at least its not their biggest priority to fund
(okay if there was a possibility to buy stuff on the Jolla store then that would resolve many things, but alas)

Do any users have experience with Finnish TTS for this user?
So now I have the new Jolla Phone and see you problem. Here Wego just is no fun to use. I tried older versions which are better but not at all good. Overall it is sluggish in any way. Worse than on the Xperia X in its days.
I decided to get rid of Here Wego after a wonderful journey through the Baltics with my 10 III. I am truly impressed by Pure Maps. I tested it with my car and my motorcycle and it just works minus the traffic messages with in 89% come late or recommend staying on the same route anyway.
So one more Android app ditched.

I hear you. I have been using OSMScout with my old Xperia 10ii and been happy with it - it even talks finnish with 5.2. I’ll try Pure Maps, too, when I get Jolla 2.
Has anyone got Pure Maps working with HERE maps?
I signed up to Here platform, create app to get api key, added it to Pure Maps, restarted app but still when I choose Here profile and try view my location maps is just blank, navigation seems to work, it says route found etc but map itself is blank..
I have tried different profiles lie Mixed, HERE - Online, Online etc, but no luck.
Reason I want Here is that looks like it has more accurate address database, for example it find places with exact street address (with building number) when OpenStreetMap doesn’t.
It would be really great if all this “basic” stuff comes as guided in on-boarding Jolla Phone 2026, like working password manager (BitWarden maybe has most native support?), navigation, repositories, stores.
