Fingerterm screen overlaps with keyboard top row

DESCRIPTION:

The bottom line of the screen overlaps with half of the top row of the keyboard when the keyboard is active.

PRECONDITIONS:

Developer mode needs to be activated, keyboard behaviour: move (default)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Start terminal app
  2. Type a cmd with long output, eg dmesg
  3. check the last line of the output

EXPECTED RESULTS:

The last line of the output should be just above the keyboard top row.

ACTUAL RESULTS:

Bottom of the screen overlaps with tge top row of the keyboard

Canā€™t reproduce any overlap, but instead I have some extra gap between the terminal content and the keyboard. It seems to be the extra bottom margin we reserve because of the heavily rounded corners, but the terminal side should have that only when the keyboard is inactive.

No wait, I can reproduce the problem with the moving keyboard mode. Above was with fixed keyboard.

thanks for providing a fix for that, I have not realised its cause is the rounded corners and the notch(?). I cannot understand h/w decisions for such designs, they seem to cause more issues that they resolveā€¦

Yea, there are pros and cons involved with those. The bug here doesnā€™t apply to other devices we have since there are no notches and the rounding are quite much smaller. On C2 we add some extra paddings on different places to avoid content over these.

The notch on the C2 screen is quite prominent, same for the rounded corners, stupid h/w feature, but thatā€™s my personal view.
