Feedback on Xperia 10 IV

Hm, why isn’t SFOS doing that?

Because SFOS isn’t Android.

Yes and official LineageOS for Xperia 10V is out too…works perfect

Recently installed 5.0.0.67 Tampella to my xperia 10IV and bought license also. This is very interesting OS with android support, but it definitely not for daily using. When making calls there no peeping when waiting answering and voice after answering is coming from loudspeaker, not from earspeaker. Adroid apps like Oura and Polar cannot use bluetooth, so not useable. Mobilepay isnt working, reguires google services to be installed. Outlook mail isnt working with native app and so on… I really really wish this OS could be usable someday, there is a huge potential in it, privacy mostly and beautiful UI. Keep up the good work, wish i could help, but i have no knowledge with these things

Wait, what license did you buy?
Did you buy the one for older phones? (older than xperia 10 iv)

I think you are mistaken, there is no license for the 10IV/10V yet. You must’ve bought the legacy license on accident, which is pretty much just a donation if you’re using a newer model.

Ok, my mistake. I thought that i should buy it for 10IV to make android apps work

When it comes google service requirements, please try Installing microG on Sailfish OS

Android apps work for free (for now?) in the test versions of Sailfish for Xperia 10 IV and 10 V.

Did you receive the autocomplete for the keyboard on the Xperia 10 IV when you purchased that license for older phones? I’m really curious about that.

Are you seriously suggesting a license for another phone (which will not be taken into use) will have an effect on the IV/V? Of course it won’t.

Nope, just basic keyboard

I will try that  when android app bluetooth issues, calling issues and camera issues are solved this xperia will be my daily driver :+1:t2:

Well, about that… I don’t want to ruin your day, but based on history, this feature probably won’t be ready for another few years. So if this is a deal breaker for you, it’s better to stop now, rather than wait (and disappoint) for years for something, that may never happen.

I see.
Thank you for letting me know!

Well… Word prediction is not some OS-dependent feature, so I don’t see any technical reason to not offer it for any license, no matter the OS version and phone for which the license was bought.
It’s just a choice on Jolla’s part.
And now I know what that choice is.

If you are talking about XT9, I don’t think Jolla can deliver new products with it

Doesn’t matter what provider they use.
It does not affect the discussion.

Xt9 is from Microsoft, like the os on your profile and it hasn’t given any new licences for it

Did you miss the message right above your reply?
It says “Doesn’t matter what provider they use.
It does not affect the discussion.”

You’ll have to expand that argument, because it makes no sense.
Of course a provider of some software going away affects its availability - and swapping it out is non-trivial.
