IMHO Jolla C2 is better than Xperia 10 III only in 3 cases:
- Official SailfishOS Firmware, so bootloader is not “unlocked”
- 8GB RAM instead (4 or 6) on Xperia 10 III
- Android 13 AAS instead 11 on Xperia 10 III
In all other specs Jolla C2 is not a upgrade or direct replacement for Xperia 10 III.
I tried to use C2 as my daily driver and found this shortcomings:
- No 5G
- No Fingerprint Reader
- No NFC
- Slow CPU (Much slower than Xperia 10 III)
- Very bad display. Low Resolution and IPS instead of OLED
- Bad battery life.
Now i use Jolla C2 as my tinker-device. I play and test all the SailfishOS hacks on it.
My daily driver is Fairphone FP5, which is unfortunately not an official Jolla Device - so no official Android App Support.
Update: Need to admit that i fully understand why Jolla has choosen Reeder S19mps as community device. They have not very much options, Sony 10 IV and V are still not ready and they need a plattform to develop on.
But after Xperia 10 III we need something with better specs and not a downgrade.
For SailfishOS Beginner - Jolla C2 might be a good point to start with, but for me personally its donwngrade.
