So it isn’t there then, as I suspected. Thanks for the clarification.
This means my original comment then still applies. The clock is ticking. And I suspect it is for many others as well. Sony phones are not made to last.

Are you sure logged in?
@rainemak just confirmed that the perpetual license doesn’t exist (yet), so that wouldn’t make any difference.
@0nn0 just confirming you understand you can use an early version of Sailfish on the 10V right now, with android AppSupport working well and Microsoft Exchange too?
Jolla has made these available for free for a period of time - no need to wait for a perpetual licence - you can download and flash whenever you are ready.
I have just done exactly that …
I am aware that there is a test version available. And as long as the perpetual license is not there, that is exactly what it is, a test version without any promise of support.
As far as the AppSupport and MS Exchange support, the OP of this thread really sends another message than offering a test version or an early release. It says it is available as a SaaS option with a discount. E.G. Jolla is trying to lure people in. I’m sorry, but for me SaaS is not ever going to be acceptable on my phone when it comes to the essential functions. So no perpetual license means no sale. And if that perpetual license gets postponed past the life time of my current 10 III, I will have to exit the ecosystem.
Okay sure, you are always free to leave the ecosystem.
That is what free market is about, consumers change brand when they are not happy with current offer. It is all perfectly fine!
Anyhow with the subscription model (i know perpertual licence is coming, but lets imagine it is not), you can cancel the subscription after one month. You’ll have paid 5euros. And keep Appsupport and other goodies working, therefore ‘‘essential functions’’ running.
You can pay a 5euros one month subscription once in a while again in the future if you want to get further software upgrades. But thats just cherry on the top in a way.
I’m not advocating anything here, i like perpetual licence better as well.
I’m just underlining that ‘essencial functions’ will be available with both models.
Anyhow if the idea is to talk now here about licencing models, i would suggest opening another thread on that topic, and keeping AppSupport feedback in this current thread.
AppSupport and MS Exchange support have always been touted as reasons not to provide the license. Now that these are available, the question of when a perpetual license will appear is quite relevant.
Maybe please either open a new ‘‘perpetual licence for Xperias IV and V?’’ thread, or alternatively continue the licencing debate on that thread which I opened last year?:
Okay here is a new thread to debate future licencing:
It seems that the salifish app can’t access android folder and android app can’t access salifish folder problem appears again.
Edit: after a restart, everything works fine
Good near noon!
I paid as the support 24,90 e to Jolla for 8 days ago. And then loaded Android support in my 10 V SFOS 5.0.0.62.
Android support works perfect. Telegram etc works very well.
However the Microsoft Exchange won’t be installed due to the problem In Jolla Store. And I can’t find any Microsoft 365 sofar. Is It so that Xperia 10 V 5.0.0.62 is not supporting Microsoft 365 yet? Maybe I have missunderdstood something as usually. Meanwhile I can use Outlook (android).
Uh. Wow. Glorious. I was quite busy last 3 weeks and totally missed that great news. I now directly bought the community license and installed Android App support. Thx @jolla for listening and making that available!!
How good (or bad) are camera and GPS on 10 IV and 10 V? This two things are still what keeps me away from using my 10 III as daily driver (and only phone).
The camera support just doesn’t exist at all on the IV and V, so not possible to tell what it will work like after that comes in place.
But there is nothing wrong with the GPS on the 10 III, so i don’t understand what you mean with that.
GPS on XA2 doesn’t work at all, on 10 III it takes long to get a fix. I like my photos geotagged, but without working GPS that doesn’t work well.
At least a subset of 10 III devices are affected by the ‘audio loss after GPS use’ bug, my 10 III device included, sadely.
Haven’t experienced this annoying audio loss on 10 V until now, so I am eagerly looking foreward to enable the 10 V being a daily driver…
My rationale what can be wrong with 10 III…
10III GPS appears to have the same bug as XA2.The GPS can receive many satellites, but takes far longer to get lock than stock Android does.If the signal is weak (inside, under foliage) it cannot get lock at all, even though GPSINFO reports a large number of sats with adequate signal.XA2 had poor antenna or rx, which made the fault symptoms much worse, because the signal was weaker to begin with -so complete inability to get lock was more common.

Yes, this is with no network connection, after rebooting.
This is completely incorrect. In the forest, in the mountains where there is absolutely no cellular signal whatsoever, and where GPS signal is weak due to foliage, and there is limited sky view due to surrounding mountains, my X10III Android can get lock. As can the previous Mediatek chipped phone.
I have two X10III, Android and SFOS, so I can compare them directly, side by side, at the same time.
In “normal” high signal outdoor conditions factory Android (not AOSP) gets lock in seconds. SFOS sees sufficient satellites within seconds, but then takes longer to lock, or totally fails to get lock if te signals are not sufficiently strong.
There is no wifi, and no cellular, in the places and at the times that my GPS must work. There’s plenty of signal when I am places with street signs and people I could ask where I am. But I don’t really need it then.
I noticed that with SF5.0.0.62, GPSINFO (Direc85 version) gets an immediate position from SFOS, and reports “time to first fix” of 2 seconds. However when I look at the satellite screen, I see that “satellites in use” is 0 after 1 minute. After a few minutes it has slowly crept up, taking more than 5 mins to get lock on 10 sats. I am 1m from a wall of glass. There are 16 green strength sats on the screen.
For comparison, stock Android (all cell/wifi connections turned off) took 17 seconds to lock, with ~10 satellites in use.
Good morning everyone,
sorry but I’m afraid I’m a bit lost too: as of today, for the Xperia 10 IV, we are still at the beta level, right? I mean it’s not usable on a daily basis like the XA2, for example, right?
Have you tested this with “stock Android” or with some google services powered application that claims to “only do GPS”? I’ve been in situations in the past where SFOS got a GPS fix while Android or iOS could not due to the lack of cell coverage or existence of wireless networks.
The harsh reality is that the comment that you made is only true because google and apple rely on wifi, GPS, cellular, etc. to obtain a lock, which SFOS cannot do easily, so GPS lock speed varies due ot a number of factors.
The best advice I read on this forum is to use the GPSinfo application whenever you know that you’ll need a constant GPS fix, which gives you an Android/iOS-like experience.
