“Disable double tap to wake” feature could rest in Gestures -settings?
This can currently be achieved by installing pkcon install mce-tools and running mcetool --set-doubletap-wakeup=never in terminal. Thankfully I came across this detail on the First Experiences… thread but a setting option would be nice.
I too have disabled it… but if the proximity sensor was just tuned a bit better (and it may well be soon) so that it doesn’t wake up in the pocket, i really don’t see a need to be able to turn it off. What is your use-case?
I think tuning can help but when the device is in pocket and I’m cycling… I want to be sure that it does not open. Particularly as there is possibility to break stuff which is hard to restore.
I didn’t have a J1. So, no nostalgia (well many, but not here :–)
I had an XA2, so I’m used to button-press to see the clock, or to start the unlock process.
Double tap confused me, as I had the choice between 2tap and power press.
I anyway have to move my finger to the power button/fp reader to unlock.
Going straight to the power button felt actually simpler for me.
Muscle memory, no brain involved.
This said, it is a pleasure to disable it by CLI, no setting needed here.
