Hi everyone,
I’ve been investigating a Bluetooth audio routing problem on the Jolla Phone 2026, where Bluetooth headphones reconnect successfully but media audio continues playing through the phone speaker.
The issue appears to originate in the OHM BlueZ5 accessories plugin. After a Bluetooth device is removed and recreated, OHM may lose its device UUIDs, preventing A2DP audio routing from being activated.
I’ve developed and tested a fix that asynchronously recovers the missing UUIDs.

Compatibility
-
Device: Jolla Phone 2026
-
Sailfish OS: 5.2.0.20
-
Architecture: aarch64
-
Stock OHM package:
ohm-plugin-accessories-1.11.0-1.11.1.jolla
EXPERIMENTAL SYSTEM MODIFICATION – INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK.
This is an unofficial patch that replaces an OHM system library. It may affect audio routing, phone calls or system stability.
The RPM checks the supported OS version and original library before installation. It backs up the original library, activates the fix and restarts OHM. Uninstalling the RPM restores the original library and restarts OHM.
Please uninstall the fix before upgrading Sailfish OS.
Installation
Download the RPM and run:
sudo pkcon install-local /path/to/felis-ohm-a2dp-fix-0.3.0-1.aarch64.rpm
Removal / rollback
sudo pkcon remove felis-ohm-a2dp-fix
Testing completed
The fix has been tested with:
-
Soundcore Liberty 5
-
Marshall Major IV
-
APW Boost Ultra
-
LAMAX Sounder2 Play
Testing included repeated Bluetooth connections and disconnections, multiple phone reboots, media playback, phone calls and switching audio routes during calls.
The RPM installation, automatic backup, activation, removal and restoration of the original library have also been successfully tested.
After restoring the stock library, the original A2DP reconnect issue was reproduced again, confirming the difference in behaviour.
Known limitation: APW Boost Ultra has a separate routing issue when the earbuds are first removed from their charging case. This issue is outside the scope of the patch.

Community testing
I’d appreciate feedback from anyone willing to test this on the supported device and OS version.
Please report your Bluetooth device model, Sailfish OS version, whether the original issue was reproducible, and whether the fix resolved it.
I’m particularly interested in results with different Bluetooth headphones, speakers and car audio systems.
Constructive technical feedback, including bug reports and criticism, is very welcome. Please keep the discussion focused on testing, reproducible issues and possible improvements.
Thanks for testing!
