- Some details about the topic: I am sure that there are some apps that would soon require a newer rust (would be nice if Wisperfish would make it to store, wouldn’t it?) and one of these is librespot, the spotify client. It has been a while since that stopped working and the new code requires a newer rust.
In the same vein, there are other projects (such as netbird wireguard networking) which are coded ingoand they aren’t easy to build on community OBS if golang is not available.
As someone who build dlang to be able to build a onedrive client, I do not think I would be able to do that with two more languages + runtimes & devtools and do that in a sustainable way.
I hoped that 5.1 or 5.2 would bring at least the rust update but there isn’t one…
