Sailfish OS Community Calendar (ICS format)

We agreed 5th June to try an afternoon time slot. Hopefully this works better for community members from central Europe. Let’s adjust time slot as needed.

Topic proposals for the meeting:

  • Add your name/nick using the template below to suggest a topic.
  • Indicate how much time you’ll need so we can time-box the meeting accordingly.
  • Please be as thorough as you can with your question/topic.
  • If you can’t make the meeting please ask and name a substitute.

It is expected that you show up and present your topic, or name a substitute and make sure they attend in your absence. These IRC meetings are for real time participation and live discussions, otherwise you can post the topic on here and get responses that way.

We need you to be present to clarify details in the topic, and to ensure the discussion is leading to the answers you are looking for! If you do not participate or your question/topic isn’t clear enough it will be postponed. Also: always ask for more time than you anticipate your topic needs!

On first boot into the update process, the keypad for entering the passcode is barely visible since backlight is very low. Second boot back into the updated system happens with reasonable backlight level. Others have mentioned the same happening on other devices and releases than the C2 with 5.0.0.

@nephros commented:

I believe it’s common to see this when the device went down with empty battery, probably because Power Saver Mode set the display to low brightness, and that sticks.

Q: Preparing for the next update, is there a way we could check this theory? Like a file where this is persisted across boots that one could look at, and maybe poke a little? Or anything else one could try to diagnose this problem?

Would it be possible to have a brief recap of the main announcements around Jolla, Sailfish OS, C2 and M2 from the meeting?

  • **Some details about the topic:**There has been conversation regarding the EOL Mozilla location service. In Sailfish Community News, 15th May 2025 - BeaconDB - #5 by rainemak community news it was stated that somekind of solution should be entered to Jolla store. Has it already been added to Jolla store or what is the status? Is it possible in any other way to improve the GPS in C2 for example?
