Cell Broadcast alerts (Germany)

I did receive a cell broadcast today on XA2 Ultra with sfos 5.0.0.67 on O2 network. However, still no sound. Please fix this, an emergency alarm without sound does not make any sense

Jolla C2, Telefonica (Blau), Sailfish OS 5.0.0.70 - no alarm neither.

Today, I received the cell broadcast alert for the first time ever. (Sony XA2, SFOS 5.0.0.68; Provider: congstar - except for the SailfishOS version, this has been my setup since 2019)

I guess setting the range of CB-Topics, according to this post, made all the difference.

I installed nephros’ cb manager, and for me it shows 919, 4352-4356, 4370-4379,4383-4392 under supported by network

Jolla C2 O2 (Telefonica) no alarm

I received this today at 11, SFOS 4.6, xperia 10iii, Aldi Talk. No sound though. I think this is the first time I received the Cell Broadcast on SailfishOS.

I tried to hack a script listening to dbus for cell broadcasts and play a sound and write a log, but I guess I will have to wait until the next test (hopefully) comes along to see if it works

10III dual sim with T-Mobile and Vodafone sims: no alarm.

Neither my nor m wifes phone did anything. Both Xiii on latest OS, both o2

I would like not to be spammed.

Cell Broadcast did nothing but Apocalypse from Samuel Kron worked like a charm.

Oh, that’s interesting. My setup: SFOS 5.0.0.68, xperia 10iii, Aldi Talk. No visual alarm, no sound.

Some side facts on that: worked on the three devices in our houshold that were on at that time (Android and iOS - my secondary phone with SFOS was off…). Nevertheless it didn’t work on any phone via the BIWAPP app, but it was said that BIWAPP and also NINA should send that notifications too. So strange enough that a third party native SFOS warning app showed that alarm, but the iOS and Android ones didn’t… So I think there are several bugs left in the technological infrastructure on all sides and edges - Apps, OS, Providers…

In apocalypse you can select different sources for the warnings. It’s unclear from the post from which of the sources the warning was broadcasted

Man, if someone had just asked.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to criticize you. However, we still can’t know if the warning came from BIWAPP, KATWARN or MOWAS (DWD I would rule out)

I’m not sure if it’s a good idea, but what about a small script that checks if there is an existing alert and automatically saves oPhono logs? The UK government lists alerts on their website: About Emergency Alerts - GOV.UK.

… in case of an apocalypse.

Jolla will not be there, they already have chickened-out for long (i.e. decided to keep SailfishOS proprietary).
