C2 refund - anyone got one?

Question for anyone who opted to return their faulty C2 for a full refund with shipping costs - have you received any info from Jolla when will that happen? Or better yet, has anyone received refund?

I have returned my C2 weeks ago, in tracking I see they have collected it - after that I waited for couple of days and got no response from jolla shop. Sent an email asking if they need anything else from my side - still no response…

I did not sent anything back, but they had forgotten stuff to deliver and I also tried very friendly to connect via e-mail with them. Waited days, too, for reponse and nothing happenend until I got a little more harsh with the tone and when I mentioned that this is not how bussinnes works for me and if they want again negative media coverage and should I connect a lawyer, than tjey started to response … I don’t know why they can’t just do their job and at least write to the people an answer back, ok you have no time to do it in real time, I understand, but it should ve possible after a couple of 2-3 days to write an answer … just my experience and opinion

Mine sat since the 18th of November, awaiting them to clear it from customs. They finally cleared it on the 28th of November and has now been sitting in a Posti Locker waiting for collection… I don’t expect to see any refund for at least 2 more weeks. However if it goes beyond that timeframe I will raise a complaint to the KVV in Finland… it’s sad but they have zero urgency on dealing with refunds.

Any option to buy such a returned device as second hand or refurbished device?

Rant alert:

Jolla claims to be a privacy oriented company, however they refund part of the costs via PayPal, there goest my personal details, address, account and card number to a third party company… never had an account with PayPal and creating one just for this really annoyed me.

I expect mine to show up at some point for sale in the Jolla shop, I’m sure at some point they will offer either as a refurb or even “new” considering some devices were opened to reflash anyway. I sent the cover and unused screen protector back as well.

JollyBoys made use of Shopify. This Canadian company specialises infinancial service. Many small companies choose Shopify because they are cheap. They do all the financial administrations between shops and customers. They also are a huge data grabber. Once I ordered a jacket in England. I didn’t know Shopify then. When writing down my mail address at the order (obliged) immediately I got an sms from Shopify. I never give my mobile number to a company, not even to the government or to medics etc. I always use our landline online. In the EU it is forbidden using a phone number without consent.

What did JollaBoys? Why, for what? In what context?

A little note that Jolla had received it would have been nice. I too did not hear anything. I paid a lot to send it fast by plane.

Shopify was the financial medium that organised payments. A digital financial administration company. If you don’t have enough staff e.g. you can outsource your financial traffic and administration to such companies.

Hi @mjun!
Your refund is currently in the process as for few others.

We are working to solve the issue at hand but due to limited resources this may take several days.
We apologize for the trouble and effort this may have caused you and appreciate your understanding.

Thanks,
Raine

Hi @rainemak thank you for response, it’s not problem if it takes a bit longer, just wanted a status update to know everything is OK.

Regardless of the C2 situation I’ll still continue to support SFOS any other way I can.

Thank you @Raine. My C2 is in repair or for refund. Just whatever is possible. I understand this takes time and there is much work to do.
A little communication is all that’s needed for now. Good luck with the procedures.

Just wanted everyone know that I just received email about refund from jolla shop. The refund is done while taking in account which method was used for payment - in my case Master Card.

I hope that the one I bought can be repaired. That would be really nice. ‘Fingers crossed’ about the speaker.

I can confirm I have received the refund and a receipt from the shop confirming in writing, so besides having to open a PayPal for some of the refund they have stuck with the promise and the policy. So kudos for that.

So why is PayPal even in the equation? Those fuckers are NSA profilers. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I complained about it but they said PayPal was the only option they had… I kind of wanted the money back so opened an account which will be closed soon.

I don’t know at which point PayPal is relevant to the transaction but is better than a Nigerian prince returning the money I guess?

I know! I suffered the same thing about the refund of the Jolla tablet. That’s how I know about PyPal’s connection to U.S. surveillance organizations.
I ended up being blown away on my refund, because I didn’t want to upload photo legitimation (drivers licence copy). That is actually how the bad guys fuck you.

Yep, they asked for verification of my profile via adding my bank account details in full… I’ll be honest with you… Jolla may have data privacy as a selling point, but asking us to register with PayPal seems to achieve the opposite…

Indeed it does…
