[BUG] [Xperia10II] [5.0.0.67] Hashed audio call on telegram

REPRODUCIBILITY: reproducable on 10 II, but not on XA2
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.67
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 II
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION:

DESCRIPTION:

When making a telegram audio call, the sound heard is very hashed, relatively impossible to hear the other person speaking…

PRECONDITIONS:

android app support via paid licence

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. open android telegram app
  2. make a call

EXPECTED RESULT:

Hearing the other person correctly

ACTUAL RESULT:
Very hard to hear to other person (sound hashed)

MODIFICATIONS:

none

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

No similar issues on XA2 with telegram calls on 5.0.0.67

It seems to me that if i install the 32 bits (arm7) version of telegram X on xperia 10 II, that solves the issue… With the official telegram app (32 bit)s on XA2, issue is non existant
Is there any feebacks from other folks using telegram audio calls on a 64bits Sailfish X device since 5.0.0.67 and how is that going for you?

Is there people who are able here to make a call on telegram on X 10 II on Tampella?

I dont know if this post follows the same issue i have with telegram calls: Whatsapp Phonecalls Skipping

But it may be. The diagnostic is pretty same: chopped audio rendering video or audio call nearly impossible…

My heart just cried one tear ;(

@yusssufff If you’ve missed what my previous comment meant, did you try using sailfishos app instead of android? I’ve put huge amount of work to make calls work in native app, try it. It’s called yottagram

Yes thats is a good argument. Thanks for the hint and the work on the app!

In my use-case there is still 2 grains of salt:

1- My mostly used device is a work phone and a want to refrain in general of using other rpm stores than the Jolla Official one.

2- I use daily video calls (that feature same chopped audio in android since Tampella), that i guess arent ported yet in your app.

  1. That’s dumb, when jolla store is literally unused since years

Yes yes i know your take on Jolla store .

Still overall it’d be nice to solve that issue on the android app anyhow.

It’s not “my take” it’s just the fact

Hi sailors!

So am I the only one with this bug actually?

Noone else did experience hashed audio while calling on telegram android app (at least since sailfish 5) ?

I wonder if that may happen when 10 II’s ram is getting kinda full (very often getting to that with AAS open), if something in that regard is somewhat jamming the audio output…

Actually you’re not. I also do have stuttering sound in Telegram calls, with the only difference those calls are sometimes ok.
I cannot see a clear pattern, why they do work flawlessly sometimes.
I’m not using the official client but the Forkgram from the F-droid.

Yeah exactly the same thing for me! I have sometimes call working, but no way to understand why… Actually i wonder if it is connected to the fact that the other person uses wifi or cellular, or headphones or speaker… Of if it may even be connected to low ram on the 10 II, that after some ram usage crushes the audio…
