Banking apps on Sailfish OS

Is there no Norwegian banking app supported at all?

Sbanken (Norwegian) installs OK on Xperia 10 IV but gives error 202.4 after entering BankID and Social security number.

Thank you @Ponipoika for entering osvatha’s report.

Same thing with DNB on Jolla C2

I can’t figure out how to edit the first post. Please someone feel free to do so:

All these apps work fine as long as MicroG is installed and all permissions are granted.

I just posted that BankID and Vipps work. I haven’t tried Sparebank 1 yet. I can live without the actual banking app as long as BankID and Vipps works.

EDIT: I can confirm Sparebank 1 SMN works just fine.

Close to the end of the first post push the ā€œEditā€-button.

I can’t find an edit button. I literally registered to edit this post, so maybe I don’t see it because I’m new?

You need ā€œBasicā€ trust level to edit wiki-posts. Can’t remember, if that is time since registration based or, if you have to complete the Forum-tutorial for it.

Thanks for adding the entries

Hi! Just preordered the phone, because for what I got from the marketing, is that this is the linux phone you can actually daily drive. After ordering I discovered this post and noticed that both Danske Bank (inc. Danske ID) and MobilePay actually don’t work yet.

I’m just a regular user and thought this phone would be aimed for the masses with security and anti-big tech ideals. Now; is it likely that when I actually get the phone it would be a working for solution for banking etc, or should I cancel my order?

Banking apps are a pain in the behind to fix. Jolla is basically running a layer that allows Android apps to work, but since it isn’t a verified locked-down phone with Google certification, most apps that implement ā€œsecurityā€ will not work because the environment is shown as insecure - Google PlayProtect, PlayIntegrity API and the device fingerprint.

This is just something we can’t do/fix easily. If you want to daily drive only the J2 without a backup phone for those proprietary apps, you should reconsider, honestly.

We live in a corporate world and most institutions just don’t care about the little guys and freedom is just scary to them.

What a bummer. I guess I’m going to ask for a refund.

Mobilepay works fully normally, but can’t comment DanskeID. OP, S-pankki and Nordea seem to work normally

Fully understand your position and I don’t know where you are located. If you are located in Finland, I would also consider changing bank. I just did that and it was very easy process

Ok, good to know MobilePay works. I don’t know, if I could live without Danske Bank, at least Danske ID is required to log in.

I live in Finland.

If you mainly need to functional bank ID for login’s, do you have for example S-pankki account? That works also perfectly

No, and changing the bank is not an option at this point.
