Aurora store stopped searching

Yes, and everything works like it should.

Hi, I still can’t install new apps in Aurora.
I updated the F-Droid store, then updated Aurora to 4.2.2 (one week old).
I tried to clear cache and data; and restart the phone.
Nothing changed.
What could I do now?

Have you tried an Aurora Nightlies Build? Do you use the anonymous account?

Where are the nightly builds? I will stay anonymous.

Let me duckduckgo that for you. Uhm.

I gave up with the anonymous accounts, and just signed in with my account. What can go wrong?

Getting banned for ToS violation, losing access to the related gmail account?

I agree. And if that ever happens to anyone, one could just use another account. And so on.

I created a disposable account just for that purpose, so no problem if it gets banned.

Thanks, I just want to do the same steps. I installed aurora nightly, firefox via apk. If I open the desired new app via ‘Mit app öffnen’, it doesn’t install it. See pictures.

I had to install an app anyways and it worked just smoothly.

You may have to configure the android store properly.

Hi Inte, thanks lot for your pictures. I had the correct configurations, it took me some time to discover, where to tap long to get the right menu!
For the others like me, here two pictures.

I really hope, that installing android apps (anonymous) over Aurora will get easier again, esp. for newbies (for many people this is important)!

I’m glad I could help. App search will probably never get as easy as it was again for anonymous accounts, since google appears to limit search queries per account.
I personally don’t mind the new search, though.

Small disadvantage: opening links in other apps, now I’m always asked, if I want to use Browser or Firefox ;-).

I don’t have an advanced option.

I don’t have a ‘open in external app’ option either.

ahh you have to do this trick now to search for apps.
That’s fine, but what if you log in with a google account?

Everything works as expected for me.

Hi, in the last week had several times the following problems with 4.2.2:

  • open Aurora store → I can read for 1/2 second: “Requesting a new session”, then it disappears
  • the store does not open after a long time

No improvement by: restarting Androidapp-Support, WIFI nor deleting cache from Aurorastore
By luck the following day it works again.
