Audio messages in Conversations app are distorted and play slowly

Hi sailfishers,

I am running Sailfish OS 4.0.1.48 on a Sony Xperia 10 Plus and
the Conversations Instant Messanger app (https://conversations.im) version 2.9.10.

Audio messages recorded on my Xperia are corrupt, as you can find out about Erasure’s “Always” song (this was recorded from my HiFi audio system, I could have recorded my own voice as well…)

Well,

1. Running Conversations (same version) on a pure Android™ phone gives excellent results.
2. Running Conversations version 2.9.1 (latest version is not compatible with Android 4.1) on my Jolla 1 phone (Sailfish Pallas-Yllästunturi) gives again excellent results.

This means that the problem seems to result from version 4 of Sailfish.

Threema Audio streched

When I send an audio in Threema, I have the following problem: I can start the recording normally, but as soon as I send the audio, it is stretched to twice the length, making it unintelligible. This already happens when I finish the audio and listen to the preview. I already wrote to Threema support, but they said after some back and forth that this is probably due to the ANdroid Machine audio encoding. Has someone else the same problem?

Threema - bad voice messages

Hi i like to use threema with my XA 2 but the voice messages quality is really bad. Perhaps somebody knows - its like when you transcribe something in slowmotion. The Sound is really bad - in german you would say - “blechern” in english: “tinny”. I already reinstalled Threema. Do you have an advice for me/ Can you help? I’m a Beginner.

Same with Signal, deeply irritating, just popped up as an issue with 4.0.1

Currently recording with the Sailfish audio recorder app and adding to signal as a file.

Same problem here with audio playback on:

• WhatsApp Calls (during the first 5 seconds)
• Unplayer from Storeman (every couple of minutes for more than 5 seconds)
