Are there still connectivity issues with C2?

I’m still having some issues with connectivity, whereby my C2 will not auto switch between Cellular and WiFi, thus needing to switch to airplane mode and back again to reset the connection.
I’m also having a strange issue where I can receive SMS messages but can’t reply or send unless I switch to airplane and back or restart the phone.
The OS is up to date 5.0.0.70 (Tampella)
Network Provider is Three UK.
4G (VoLTE) is enabled and registered.
Any help/ advice would be appreciated.

Jolla told in one of the community meetings that they have found solution for connectivity problems with C2. Just woke up so dont have energy to search that you, but it should get better in next updates

Edit. I miss remembered the detail and the discussion was about AAS mobile data connection which will see imrovements

I guess you mean that for native apps?

WiFi reconnect issue is very very rare for me. Like once in many months. GSM works for me perfectly.

In community meetings. But IIRC it was just for mobile connectivity in AAS. I have that issue most of the time.

Ah you might be right, I probably miss remembered this in the morning

That is correct. We were discussing about AppSupport mobile data issue.

Thanks everyone for your input so far.
The strange thing is, a very similar issue has been affecting my Android phone since ThreeUK switched to 5G & 4G only, they’ve also merged with Vodafone and I was convinced it was a ThreeUK service issue since the big outage in August. Just coincidence I guess.

I am still encountering some issues as well. Sometimes, sms sending fails (reboot needed to fix that). Sometimes, there is no wifi connection despite the phone saying it is connected to wifi. It happens with mobile data off or on, always when moving through two knowns wifis (at home and at work).

Sometimes, switching to airplane mode and disabling android support works (ie, i get back connectivity). Sometimes i have to reboot the phone.

Toggling flight mode on then off worked on my Xperia 10 II and earlier phones, to restore connectivity. It doesn’t help on my C2: flight mode gets stuck and never completes turning off. Instead I toggle WLAN and wait for it to connect to the local wifi.

I’ve had the problem with SMS messages a few times. I think it occurs when I send a message without realising that the C2 isn’t connected; the first indication I get is a ‘Problem sending’ message on the SMS screen. If I delete any SMS marked as a problem, and then shut down the phone and start it up again, all is well. Until next time.

Please search if there is already a bug report about SMS and create one if not. I don’t remember to ever see report about indication you found. It might help to debug.

thanks for your reply

I was really hoping that the next release would solve the problems…sadly I had a counter-example withing a few hours of upgrading. I have finally posted a bug report,

Mine too. Mobile AAS was pretty annoying before. For now still 100%.

Downloaded and installed latest update. However my C2 did not reconnect to WiFi when it came back within range. Had to enable Flight Mode for a few seconds, it found the WiFi again but only showing “Limited Connectivity”

I am having the same problem. Happens all the time to me, only reboots solves the problem for me. This is probably the most annoying issue i have with my C2 (apart from the not working Volte with Congstar). I am wondering if this is a device specific problem or a general problem. With my old XA2 plus i never had this problem….

I used to have the same issue with my Xperia 10/II, so can’t really say if it’s device specific.

@rainemak after the upgrade to 5.0.0.71 Wifi is worse on C2 than before. I must reboot the phone every day to connect to my Wifi, although the phone claims, that it is connected. Using the built-in “restart network” helper doesn’t solve the issue.

I have the same experience with my C2, WiFi is way worse with 5.0.71 than before.
Restart seems to be the only way to get back for me as well but it won´t last.
I also have issues with my alarm clock not triggering in the morning. So don´t have a solid feeling on this update.

Both of that are not new issues. At least for some.

I very rarerly experiance WiFi one since many releases ago.

I still have 5.0.70 and alarm was not trigerred a few days ago. Fortunatelly, my wife also had one…
