Just because one app already exists doesn’t mean another app with the same purpose is forbidden. If someone can make it even better and more functional, they can. We can have ten stock market apps too.

What do you mean with “Maep .. doesn’t work anymore”? For me it’s works fine on my JP2026.

No, it’s there from the start.
And the design decision to show weeknumbers only when needed is a good example for unobstrusive design.

Oh so right, Maep works as an app, But here we were talking of the MML map, wich is Finland’s detailled state made terrain map. So in Maep, if you try to take ‘Peruskartta’ as the Map provider, it doesnt show anymore.

Maybe some people dont want to fill their calendar with dates. I check calendar for important meetings and dates.
You can enable/disable calendars too so it can be as cluttered as you like

Re holidays & moon phases: no app required. It is possible to import these from .ics files provided by certain websites, sometimes for years into the future. Unfortunately these are not self-renewing so evtl. they will run out - which could be half solved with a calendar reminder.
Anyhow, here are sites I used in the past:
