found a big bug in the OS on new jolla 2026. I have setted up alarm clock at 7:15 for few days ago and made it ring for a week. (every day ringing) next day it worked. Then changed time a day later for 8:45, same alarm. Next day it still ringed at 7:15. So I deleted it. Next day it still rings. What to do about it???
Just to join in with this one, I’ve set an alarm that repeats the same time every day. It went off yesterday and decided not to go off at all this morning. Not sure what the solution would be or how I can diagnose further?
it is end of 2026 and still not fixed?? on first jolla phone there were no issues like this at all. No Mobile connection issues nor alarm or notification. all basic functions worked good.
In the bug report quoted in comments, someone said that rebooting the phone works. I know it’s annoying, but that could be a workaround whenever changing the alarm time. Or if you don’t want to always reboot, you could test it by first setting the alarm 1 min in the future and see if it goes off. I was never hit by this bug so I cannot confirm.
My guess is that this has a lot to do with HW implementation. I guess alarm relies on HW RTC (Real Time clock chip) so it can wake up from power off. And change of alarm time somehow is not properly reflected in RTC.
And one more thing: what looks basic to the user is often not basic at all under the hood.
EDIT: Note that without RTC alarm still works when phone and is powered on.
It’s only that regrettably self wake up doesn’t work either. The alarm is missed and stays active, though I didn’t wait for the next day.
For myself I’d given up on the possibility attributing it to the necessities of system encryption.
So far solution is, delete all alarms, reboot the phone and after restart setup an alarm clock only for one time, do not set repeat, cuz if you do, it is going to ring every morning no matter if you do time change in it.
