[4.5] Lost fingerprints [Workaround: Restart fingerprints in Sailfish Utilites]

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.5.0.16
HARDWARE: X10iii
UI LANGUAGE: ru
REGRESSION: yes

DESCRIPTION:

after uograde from latest 4.4 to 4.5, device was lost all fingerprints.

PRECONDITIONS:

  • get device with 4.4
  • add fingerprints to device

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. update to 4.5

EXPECTED RESULT:

  • device can be unlocked with finger
  • fingerprints are present in security settings

ACTUAL RESULT:

  • device not unlock with fingerprint (pin only)
  • in security settings no fingerprints

MODIFICATIONS:

no

P.S.

cant add new fingerprints, uts show error after adding new one, second show: “Error! Can get fingerprint”

X10II: fingerprints seem to be working fine here, immediately post-update.

Maby i mde sonething, then it broke… Looks like some time it work normal, i dont remeber i was enter pin every time when unlock device

Isn’t it just the regular “fingerprints lost randomly”?
Have you tried restarting fingerprint service in utilities?

This is the worst bug on the 10iii IMHO.

Yes, restart fingerprints service mostly fixes it but only mostly and even that forces you to manually unlock first and remember to restart the service.
I recently had the bug when I had done almost nothing with the phone – I think it was using my Bluetooth headphones with media player. Probably had mobile data on.
My guess is that the Bluetooth service somehow occasionally hangs the fingerprint service.

Is it even logged as a bug? Whilst it’s testament to the quality of the port & bugfixing done over the last two years, I don’t know if there’s an outstanding bug on the 10 ii or other phone as major as this.

Didn’t this appear with the 10 II? IIRC it is much more frequent on it. I have it every other month or so on my III.

Fingerprints still randomly stop working in 5.0.0.61 on Xperia 10 iii. Restarting in utilities fixes problem until it happens again.
