[4.5.0.21] [X10iii] Android apps not search GPS

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: from 4.5.0.19
HARDWARE: X10III
UI LANGUAGE: ru
REGRESSION: yes

DESCRIPTION:

in some moment, all android apps stop use gps, native apps work with GPS fine

PRECONDITIONS:

did not know, its just stop work, dont know when it happens

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open Android app with geposition supprt
  2. Allow android app use geoposition (in android settings)

EXPECTED RESULT:

  1. should start search GPS, then show geoposition when searching done

ACTUAL RESULT:

its even dont sart search geoposition, just not work

MODIFICATIONS:

chum repo, no system packages updated from there

So that means it’s not always reproducible.

Do you have Local NLP Backend (or another alternative) from F-Droid installed?

Remove the UnifiedNLP and all it related service, remove MicroG and AlienDalvik.

After then, reinstall everything back following these Quick Start Guide.

Before doing that restart ofono, just in case but I supposed you did a reboot therefore ofono restarted after the reboot.

Before your start your Android app that uses GPS, it would be advisable to start gpsinfo natively on SailfishOS and wait until your get a GPS fix. If you have a fix, Android apps should also be possible to properly read GPS data.
