[4.0.1.48] VPN losing credentials

REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): twice per day
BUILD ID = 4.0.1.48
HARDWARE (XA2, Xperia 10…): Xperia 10
UI LANGUAGE: French
REGRESSION: No Vpn never worked properly

DESCRIPTION:

When having two VPN services configured, the credentials of the active VPN are lost after a while.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Configure two VPN services (I’m using Proton VPN with same credentials for both)
  2. Check save login/password checkbox
  3. Switch between the two => No Pb
  4. Check status after few hours. Active VPN is disabled and Sailfish is asking for credentials
  5. Enable the other VPN => it works
  6. Switch back to the faulty VPN => VPN credentials are still requested

EXPECTED RESULT:

Credentials should be stored as checkbox was checked

ACTUAL RESULT:

Credentials are lost but only after a while. Likely a specific event cleared them.

I have had that problem in the past. When it was happening I was using the sailfish utilities app, and then restart in the first restart box that comes up.

For me restarting the device (XA2 Ultra, 4.4.0.68) causes OpenVPN configs to be gone.

Edit: So far I have only used OpenVPN I don’t know about other formats.
