[4.0.1.45] Can not import vcard/vcf file

DESCRIPTION:

Copied VCF file with contact informations can not be imported into the contact applications.

PRECONDITIONS:

Copy file into home directory

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Importing via Settings -> Apps -> ContactApp -> Import Assistent via File

Thanks for reporting. The issue is caused by access restrictions introduced by the app isolation. It may be a wider problem than just importing contacts. An internal bug has been filed about this.

While one cannot import contacts from “miscellaneous folders” (e.g. /home/defaultuser/tmp), it still works from standard folders like /home/defaultuser/Downloads and /home/defaultuser/Documents.

VCF files sent to a phone via Bluetooth end up in folder /home/defaultuser/Documents.

Thank you for taking the time. I can confirm that the import is successful if the file is located in Documents. This is a feasable solution!

SFOS 4.2.0.21, importing works from “Documents” but not from “Downloads”, nemo and defaultuser…
