And yeas… where way off topic!
So, I’m very new here. I’m in first patch for Jolla phone and have gotten Xperia 10 III for trying things in meantime. 10 III has crucial bug where I lose audio sometimes which keeps my sim card currently in old android phone. But I mainly use xperia otherwise. I have tried to test everything I “need“ and everything works beatifully imo. I have a lot of apps…
Edit. Can’t download over 5 photos, so can’t show every folder. But I’m very very suprised how many things I can do with native apps! And outside of that, I’m very pleasent how well AAS works. Sure it drains some battery to keep it on 100% of time, but doesn’t bother me
I have to +1 a little bit regarding Windows Phone. I had a couple of the Lumias. The sfos app view reminds me of live tiles, which I really enjoyed. I liked WP and so I really also liked Windows 8. WP users might be the only ones that ‘got it’.
Technically, this is from my development phone, which I used as my primary phone before switching to an Xperia 10 III not that long ago. I hope that still counts?
The first Lumia was my first smartphone, and I liked it. Still, I switched to Sailfish when I found it at the beginning of 2014. ![]()
I sold my Lumia to a guy on a parking lot, the day after I received my JP1.
Switched from an HP Veer (small, but my eyes were better then, loved WebOS) to the first Jolla Phone and never used something else than SFOS since then (currently on Xperia 10iii).
Now, Looking forward to the new Jolla Phone (unfortunately batch #2, wasn’t fast enough :-P).
Jolla Phone has served as my daily driver since January 2014 when
switched from Nokia E90.
Mostly used applications are:
email, contacts, messages, calendar, documents, ownkeepass, meecast,
phone, media, gallery, camera in descending order sort of.
Original battery (one accessory battery died), one scratch in screen,
one corner damaged.
More than 12 years… that is impressive. I wish I could keep a phone alive that long.
Have you ordered the J2?
I have ordered the Jolla Phone, which will replace my Samsung S22 Ultra Android main driver.
First time going Sailfish. Might as well go all in. Rip off the bandate. I did the same when I switched to linux for the whole household. Was a mess for a month or so, but never looked back afterwards.
I did the same with Linux for my family a few years ago. It was smoother than expected.
I’m in the first batch for the J2. I cannot wait to escape the phone OS duopoly (I’m also moving from Android).
I use a Sony Xperia 10 III with Sailfish OS as my only phone. I’ve never really had two phones, one primary and one secondary. I’ve been using Jolla, Xperia, and SFOS (mostly stock with native apps, lately a few Android apps) since summer 2014. I’m very much looking forward to SFOS 5.1 and later on Jolla 2.
XA2 - 2G phone calls aren’t a problem yet in Finland/Elisa and the battery is OK. Next phone will be JP2, GS5 or Moto Edge 30 Neo. My hands are too big for Xperia 10.

Many Symbian phones, N9. After that Sailfish on Xperia X, few XA2 and now 10III
Hi, new user here, never used sailfishOS. I pre-ordered the JP2 due to increasing concern in privacy and interest in open-source OS alternatives. But oh boy, by reading the replies to this topic I’m getting that I can call SailfishOS the “Boomer-OS”. Using SFOS from 2012? Damn, I even didn’t have a phone before 2014! At this point I’m curious if people here are really using it because is genuinely good and privacy-friendly or just because they are so used to it that they are afraid to switch.
Largely because I haven’t found anything better in all these years, so a bit of both ![]()
Yes, of course
What’s better?
I’m pretty sure that soon you’ll fall in the first group.
Never used any noneuropean OS on the phone.
First nondumb (it has Opera Mini browser) phone was real Nokia in 2011. Still works a month and a half on one charge as a wakeup phone in flight mode.
First smartphone was Xperia with SFOS and then several more of them. Unfortunatelly 10 V waits in a drawer for ‘working camera’ release.
Waiting for J2 I use C2. Not the fastest nor high end device but still usable for me as a daily driver.
