[Xperia XA2][4.5.018] some sms not received

REPRODUCIBILITY: Randomly
OS VERSION: 4.5.018
HARDWARE: X,XA2
UI LANGUAGE:French
REGRESSION: yes

DESCRIPTION:

Sms are randomly not received and yet indicated as sent to the sender. if i place my sim card in another device (not sfos) i see the last non-received sms appear as a new message. I use an XA2, my sister with an X (4.4.072) has the same problem. We both use the french sfr network.

PRECONDITIONS:

randomly, 10% sms not received, ?not an operator problem = works on a not sfos device?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. sms sent by an expeditor

EXPECTED RESULT:

received sms

ACTUAL RESULT:

10% sms not received

MODIFICATIONS:

Free test sfos version (not android)
Chum,Storeman, patchmanagr,presage, OSM scout/Puremap, …
data network always on or always off same result

What exactly do you mean?

I have very rarely (much less than even 1%) experienced SMS not being sent problems but was never able to narrow it down to my phone or SFOS; maybe the recipient is not able to receive it right now? Maybe something’s off between sender and receiver?

=To reproduce this one someone has to send me a sms.

Yes, I understand that the cause can be multiple and not necessarily sfos. What surprises me is to receive the messages with another device (not sfos).

Ok, so that’s what “expeditor” means.

And I misunderstood; I thought somebody does not receive your sms.

I trust you made extensive tests;

This reminds me of common discussions about different mobile providers and their “quirks”.

bumping this up as i have the same exact problem with the same exact phone (sony xperia xa2) with latest 4.6

i really hope sailfish 5 will improve the situation, as this way phone is quite unreliable…
