[Xperia X][Xperia XA2] [4.5.0.19] Charging indicator stuck on

DESCRIPTION:

Top indicator for active charging (square icon with a flash in it, to the left of battery percentage) remains visible regardless of whether a charger is connected or not.

Regression: I’m sure this did work at some point, but this issue has been present for several releases. Can’t say when it started, unfortunately.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Connect charger
2. Disconnect charger

EXPECTED RESULT:

Icon with flash to disappear

ACTUAL RESULT:

Icon with flash remains visible

I couldn’t find a bug report about this, but I think this has been mentioned somewhere - perhaps in a discussion about something else…

I’m using Xperia 10 II, the battery icon (square with a flash) is visible without charger connected.
If i connect the charger, the square icon moves a little to the right and a horizontal line appears, representing the cable (I assume). The icon also changes to white and black instead of grey and white.

You’re right, now I notice I get the little cable on my XA2 too. Never noticed…

The difference is minimal and I think the presence of the icon while there is no charger is misleading. So I’d argue that this is a bug in the design, even if the technical implementation is correct.
