I’m just wondering for a quick reply from the Xperia 10 IV and V users out there:
What is the currents state of Audio as of Sailfish OS 5.1 ?
Does 3.5mm Jack works? In and out sounds (meaning does microphone works too from the headset) ?
Possibly anyone using Usb-C headsets for audio/microphone?
Do the phones’s 2 stereo speakers work when audio is played out loud?

I Have a 10V, so can only report on that. Essentially there has been no progress on this port since the early release. A tiny bonus was limited support was added for usb headsets. Hence, audio support is substandard and lacking.
3.5mm jack has no function at all. Will not work for anything, both audio and mic.
I only have a FIIO KA11 USB DAC to test, and this works for audio play back, but not for calls, and not for mic input. But I don’t think the KA11 supports the mic, I am not sure. So audio via usb works well, but mic I am not sure. Call audio doesn’t route to the usb dac if I make a call.
On a side note, be very careful using the CSD test tool with a usb DAC. It seems the volume control is not present and the volume is potentially damaging for earphones and ears. Woops.
You didn’t ask about bluetooth, but I have a FIIO BTR5 that I use with a 3.5mm headset. Audio, mic, calls, everything, works well with this.
Regarding the phone loudspeakers, the left channel doesn’t play on my 10V. The right channel only plays via the top loudspeaker. This is the result with audio test files and the inbuilt CSD test tool.
I wish the 3.5mm jack worked, but I think there is very unlikely to be improvements in this port by Jolla. So I think it is likely that the audio will never work properly on this phone, short of seeing a community port built on a base of lineage 22.
@Sharks has done a mountain of work to try and get a port based on lineage working for the 10IV, so perhaps soon, the audio on that device will be working very well.

I’ve been super busy at work the last few days so my porting efforts have taken a backseat this week, but I’ll get back on it soon.
On the Jolla port, nothing except the loudspeaker works. My port is changing every time I build a new version - at one point I had the 3.5mm jack working partially (microphone and buttons) but I’ve accidentally broken the microphones everywhere on some of the latest builds so I need to go back and work out what went wrong. (Edit: worked it out, microphone fixed)
I am struggling to get the speaker output redirected to the headphone or earpiece at the moment, but it’s something I’m actively working on.
All that said, I’m a mechanical engineer who spends his days building heavy vehicles on the wrong side of the planet from most of you lot. I am by no means an expert programmer and don’t claim to be. So if anyone is willing or able to help my porting efforts I would be eternally grateful.
I was planning on waiting until I had something semi-usable before discussing the port too much on the forums - I at least wanted audio as good as Jolla’s port or better, and VoLTE working. But it appears @juz has let the cat out of the bag a bit early! Ah well, at least people are taking notice, and more people looking at it might motivate me to work a bit harder…! 
A bit OT: Before starting moving to a new home and having no time because of that I tried to start a LOS based port for the 10 V, perhaps we could share some effort as the devices seem to be similar? I not even managed to get a booting kernel, so perhaps you could share how you did that, even in private if you prefer?

I have as of about half an hour ago got fully working audio on Xperia 10 IV. Headphone, earpiece, loudspeaker, bluetooth, the whole nine yards. Including in calls (except bluetooth, working on that). Will make a post on this forum sometime in the next 12-48 hrs with further details of my port.

That is amazing work Sharks! The incredible amount of work you have put into this is truly appreciated. In a few days or so, when you have caught your breath, would you consider sharing your notes on what you have done so I can try and repeat on the 10V. Thanks again. An amazing effort.

One more thing regarding the Jolla 10 V port is that both stereo loudspeakers play only the left channel 
At least that’s how it was the last time I’ve checked. I lost my interest in this miserable story since I’ve been daily driving the 1 IV which is now fully stable and mature, but I seriously doubt that anything has changed.
Does your progress on your lineage port equals to some backport fixes to the Jolla official port? Does any of your successes has the potential to improove Jolla’s audio implementation?
I doubt it, but I’m not sure. Unless the solution is part of some recent change in the pulseaudio-modules-droidor pulseaudio-modules-droid-hidl packages, my success is most likely down to the android.hardware.audio@6.0.so interface from Lineage. I don’t think /vendor/lib/hw/audio.primary.holi.so should have changed. So if the hidl interface and the vendor driver are the same, I suppose you’ve got a chance.
If I had another Xperia I’d have kept the original Jolla port on it so I could compare differences, but I have no desire to reflash it now on this phone.
