Xperia 10 IV [4.6.0.15] asks for USB mode when connecting plain charger

DESCRIPTION:

Connecting to a Sony charger with a charging-only cable will bring up a menu to choose: [developer mode | file transfer | charging only].

PRECONDITIONS:

Sony charger, charging-only cable

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Set USB mode to ‘Always ask’.
  2. Connect charger to phone

EXPECTED RESULT:

The phone to start charging without asking.

ACTUAL RESULT:

The phone show menu to choose: [developer mode | file transfer | charging only] and start charging

MODIFICATIONS:

  • OpenRepos: yes
  • Chum: yes

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This issue occurs always: 4 different chargers (Sony original, 2 quick chargers, UPS)

I understand the device should be able to recognize this automatically, but you can set USB mode permanently in the settings (and it will still charge if you set it to file transfer or ssh).
