I have been suffering for the same problem for few years. Phone calling works good for long periods, but if I get a call and cancel it or mute it, then after that I can’t make calls anymore. I can receive calls, but the phone shows me that there is ongoing call even if there is nothing visible on the phone app. Only thing that fixes this, is to make a full reboot, after that everything works normally.
Also this has happen on two other Sony xperia 10 III phones I have, little bit different behaviour. Phone calls don’t work at all, only SMS, rebooting does not help. But if the SIM-card is changed to another phone (different brand and OS), make a phone call receiver and send, then changing back to Xperia 10 III, after that phone calls works again on SFOS. But after time it goes inoperative again.
Unfortunatelly moving SIM to another phone and back does not help in my case, tested multiple cards, although all from same country (Slovenia) and none worked.
Did you also reflash some android version and test?
Before that phone was working flawlessly, no sign of any troubles.
Calls need 2g/3g or fallback to it - or VoLTE (clue is in the name). 5g is similar with no native calls. Fallback to VoLTE on 4g or VoNR are your options. So what is your VoLTE status?
I locked bootloader and reflashed oldest Android (11) I coud get with Xperia Flash Tool and from that manually updated to latest version (13) hoping, that somewhere in the process it would start working. It doesn’t.
I attached few pics of current state with android 13 installed (62.2.A.0.533) - this one was flashed with Xperia Companion under Windows as suggested by AI as it might “repair” device to working state.
To my undestanding the culprit is IMS not registering and if it does not work with Android, it will not work with SFOS.
Please note that (to my knowledge) VoLTE and VoWIFI didn’t work before with neither of 2 operators I tested (A1 and Telekom) with SFOS so that status on last pic is something I actually expected. My operator (A1) disabled 3G in july 2023.
I’l check SIM with some other android to see what status reports there.
