Hi, The documentation say you needs to install android 11 or 12 first but 11 recommended.
It should work fine to flash over Android 13. Try searching the forum for the error message, for example here is someone who had a similar issue.
But he finally flashed over Android 12!

Edit: Got it to work, flashed the SW binaries now with the option
-S 256M
now the Android 12 vesion. That worked and SF is starting. Will have a look if everything works.
Not 13, not 12, not 11…
As with the different versions of Sony Software binaries for AOSP.
I tried all the combinations and couldn’t get sailfish os back.
I can’t believe it!!!
I think I’ll say goodbye to sailfish OS.
Everything seem fine until the last line in your flash log. I,m not an expert so I can´t tell why you got that error, but I’m pretty sure someone else in here can.
Here is the crucial error message, extracted with fantastic NormCap…
>> fastboot -s HQ615P2EF1 flash oem a ./SW binaries for Xperia Android 11 4.19 v9a_lena.img
Sending 'oem a' (819200 KB) FAILED (remote: 'Requested download size is more than max allowed ')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Flashing failed (1)
He needs the option I have described here:
@Seven.of.nine already pointed that out.
Just add
-S 256
behind your flash command.
so the complete line looks like this (depending on the used image):
fastboot flash oem ./Sailfish_OS-Jolla-4.6.0.13-xqbt52-1.0.1.11/SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_12_4.19_v1c_lena.img -S 256M
Regarding the reinstalling SFOS…
It has come the time for me to reinstall it, since after too much experiments, my phone has become somehow unstable.
I do not remember which Android binary file I used back then. Since it has been working pretty good, I would like to use the same.
Is there a way to know (via shell) which android binary my Xperia 10 III is running on?
Thanks!
Hm. Shouldn’t that be possible via adb/fastboot?
