XMPP no longer works

I had just noticed it was no longer available, so I built it for aarch64. I’m not sure how it’s ‘supposed’ to work, but telepathy has issues connecting with my xmpp server, so I’m guessing I’d be in for debugging. In any case, add contacts to people does not work with PingYou.

But then, I don’t seem to get any xmpp activity on 4.4 with the native messages client. If I install Shmoose, it works (although images/file attachments are broken if they ever worked?).

The server is prosody .12, I believe.

I don’t even get past this (even with a linked jid). I just get Invalid recipient if i type a user@domain.tld

I guess I’m a little late here (Sorry!), but PingYou (unfortunately) doesn’t “add contacts to people”. The way it works is:

  1. You add an XMPP contact to your roster in PingYou
  2. The created contact appears in your SailfishOS contacts.
  3. You can connect the XMPP contact (created by PingYou) to an existing contact/person if you like.

Ok, thanks. I’ll try the workflow.
