I use Threema very often and as there is threema Libre, wouldn’t it be possible to create a native threema app? Also how profitable is it for a company like threema to do their own sailfish app? It seems like most sailfish apps are maintained by one person, so it shouldnt be too expensive for a company to do so.
As Threema is open source, I think it would be possible. Only someone needs to do it.
SailfishOS has just a too narrow user base to be interesting for a company.
Hm. I would do it, but I don’t know how to code. Maybe in 3 Years when i finish studying computer science.
I bought a Threema Libre for a Volka phone and husband bought the same for his e/os phone. The rest of the family has iphones and one Android. We had issues, our Libre’s seemed not to match well with the others.
For me threema libre via f-droid repository runs quite well in App Support. A native Threema client would be much nicer of course
But the license is the same anyway, you can still replace your libre client with the normal threema via aurora store or download it from their homepage
What exactly went wrong?
There is your answer on where it has gone Threema is going Open Source! - #11 by unmaintained
I don’t exactly know. I already bought Threema in itunes more than a decade ago. With Threema Libre I got a new ID. There was confusion woyh the two ID’s.
Sorry, I am making many mistakes with that awful text prediction on my XA2 plus. Typing is a pain. Tried to remove text prediction in terminal but that didn’t work. Wished we could remove it in settings.
Different IDs mean different chats. Afaik you cannot connect old chats with a new ID. So everyone needs to connect to your new ID.
Is this what you tried? pkcon remove jolla-xt9
It worked for me years ago
Thank you. I thought so already. Then the problem emerges: with which phone? It’s problematic to switch sim cards, what I do now often. So I am waiting for a good sustainable Sailfish ohone that I can use for the rest of my life ( yes, I am that old) with Threema installed to communicate with my family abroad.
The phone does not matter. Threema has a separate ID coming with each licence.
