Rabobank is a Dutch bank. This post is about getting the banking app to work on SFOS
Today’s date: 2025-12-19
Phone: 10V
SFOS: 5.0.0.72
App version: v7.52.1 (75245800), most recent at the moment of writing.
I got a working rabobank app on my phone. I thought it couldn’t. At some time, an update of the app broke it. I kept using the old app, until it wasn’t supported anymore. Then I tried MicroG, but it didn’t help.
Recently I tried again, and I got it to work. Here is what I had to do:
- Enable MicroG in SFOS AAS settings
- Install MicroG, with their repo’s added to F-droid
- In the MicroG settings app, go to Play Store Services
- Enable On-demand installation of components
- Install rabobank app. For me it works now.
I hope it helpful for anyone, and this post is not just forum clutter.

I thought so as well, so I did before this post. But I thought people might miss it, I would have missed it, so I decided to make a dedicated post as well.
And of course the question: did you complain about this at the Rabobank? If everyone keeps jumping through hoops to get basic functionality working, nothing will change.

I have complained multiple times about this. Your message made me do it again.

They chose to drop my complaint.
It is a policy choice to not support android not officially supported by Google.
So I filed another complaint against their policy choice.
I heard from a source Rabobank is internally investigating how to become less dependent from big tech, so this policy might change in the future.

I decided to leave Rabobank because of this. When you make this kind of choices in 2025 you must be very tone deaf. The ING app works fine for me on Sailfish.

Seems they actually listen, updated the Android apps today on my phone and the Rabobank app worked again. Needed to register but it worked to my surprise.

Unbelievable, it really works now! It has been almost a year since I was last able to use it.
