Yep, that’s a current limit. Should be possible to fix though, now that Gallery is open. Shouldn’t be a hard one to contribute as a first patch! Basically copy it over from Gallery or Quickddit
We should make it the number of unread non-archived non-muted chats maybe. Although muted chats should still kinda count… can we somehow display both? Large number for normal ones, small one including the muted ones? I guess the cover gets cluttered at that point…
But yes, @NIS, it bothers me too, in both the archived and the muted cases!
This is obviously going to be personal preference, but personally I wouldn’t be interested in muted ones at all, and would rather have unread-unmuted-unarchived chats, and sum of unread messages within those.
Depends on what you’re muting them for. I can imagine I’m not the only one who permanently mutes busy group chats, not because I’m not interested in them but because I don’t like it when my phone is constantly buzzing for attention, and the group chats’ contents aren’t extremely important.
Let me know if there’s anything unclear there, or if there aren’t enough warnings about safety (please disable your old installation, I really don’t want to deal with debugging the strange effects of running the same device identity on two devices ). I proofread it a few times for errors (and fixed a few).
With v0.6.0-beta.42 I have conversations suddenly with “(Unnamed)”. But this conversation was going already. When I open the conversation the name shows “(Unnamed)”, but swiping right reveals the actual name, going to “Show contact”, shows “(Unnamed)”, trying to link shows “No similar contact founds”.
Do I enter a Gitlab ticket or is there something else going on?
If you just recently updated the WF version, just wait a bit. It takes a while for the new profile handling to sync everything. See above post by the author.
I have an issue where I don’t receive incoming messages for exactly one contact in Whisperfish. I’m getting incoming messages for all the other contacts, and I’m also seeing the outgoing messages that I sent to this particular contact from other devices.
Logs from you (not) receiving a message from this contact could be helpful indeed. It’s not so easy to reproduce at the moment.
You can try the following: enable debug mode (in Whisperfish settings), then go to the contact’s profile page, pull down to identity reset, wait until that’s done, and then pull down again to session reset. Sometimes this works, sometimes this doesn’t for some reason.
Thank you, I did both resets, and now I’m getting the messages!
I saw before the reset that “Sealed sending mode” was “unknown” for this contact, and “enabled” for others.
Now, after the reset, and after I received some messages, I checked again, and it is also “enabled” for this contact, too.
Not sure if this has anything to do, just wanted to add in case it does help anything.
Thank you!
