Where to go after Sailfish?

I guess we can discuss the meaning of the word, but as far as capabilities are concerned this is very much a smartphone. Just a different form factor. And it does run Android.

I am a bit lost though. Why is this considered a device that you can go after sailfish?

You would normally expect a phone like this to run KaiOS or something.
This one seems to run Android 11.

Google seems to have nuked another quasi-competitor.

The only manufacturer for KaiOS practically was Nokia and, if you go to Nokia.com, they’ve completely forgotten what a mobile phone is.

But they direct you to this, they havent forgotten yet

Which is then taking you to HMD’s website…

So HMD are still making handsets with the Nokia branding - even in 2024, but Nokia.com itself doesn’t list them or really mention them at all, unlike before.

Not sure what to make of that,
HMD must still have the rights to use the Nokia brand on their handsets and perhaps that agreement doesn’t expire for a good while yet, but Nokia is trying to downplay the association.
