I don’t know man. For sure you are furious currently, but there were quite good communications from Jolla pointed to you. There even was point that if you have ordered with different emails, you have deemed yourself for manual processing, which is slow, like Jolla has said.
That said, for some reason some people need constant flow of emails. But hey, like everything in life, you can’t please everyone. I don’t want to have unnecessary emails myself. Everyone here knows that Jolla needs dedicated people for customer service job, but also everyone knows that won’t happen during summer holidays. There is nothing representing bootlicking if you are just realist. Regulars here have all necessary info from Jolla, which they have given almost weekly.
Except for the short bursts where they have first class communication for around 5 minutes (real time), what then makes it oh-so-more frustrating when it’s “back to normal” once that burst is over.
There’s always more communication than expected …or way less - but nothing in between, and especially never the amount you’d expect in/for that specific situation.
Wrong thread, but quickly if you search you might notice that isn’t fully fault of Jolla +personally I would like Jolla to develop SFOS, not try to workaround bugs by Sony
All these replies and gaslighting, no one points out the fact that most webshops have a way of tracking your order status in real time but not this one… abysmal!
There is an order status if you log in on https://commerce.jolla.com which will most probably currently tell you that they are preparing your shipment … because there is not more to tell you.
They communicated that they have an overload of email traffic and that they try to fulfil the orders in the sequence of order placement.
And apparently, there is no internal tracking of orders in place.
From my own experience I have gotten the impression that the fulfilment of orders for which an email is received is postponed. That is what I read between the lines.
I expect some more information with the next Community News that will be issued after summer holiday season is over.
BTW: I am in the same Jolla as you - early order, nothing heard so far - but I asked whether it is possible to add a battery to my order even though batteries are not available in the web store yet. That may have postponed the fulfilment of my order.
I wrote message in the beginning where I pointed last three messages related to shipments + upcoming one. It disappeared, don’t know what happened (firat time), but you can find the information if you just look the activity of Jolla account
I can fully understand the frustration here – the communication regarding order status and delivery timelines is simply no longer acceptable for many of us.
What I keep asking myself, though, is: why doesn’t Jolla just use the Jolla Mind2 itself to handle this flood of customer inquiries?
After all, this very device is advertised with email automation, document processing, and personal AI assistance – precisely the capabilities needed to efficiently answer hundreds of identical order-related questions.
The fact that they still seem to be replying manually (or not at all) does at least raise serious doubts about whether Jolla itself actually trusts its own product to be ready for such tasks.
And if the manufacturer doesn’t even use the Mind2 for the exact use cases it promotes, that tells us far more about its actual maturity than any glossy marketing brochure ever could.
I bought the Jolla Phone precisely because it has nothing to do with AI and because Mind2 stuff appears to be quite separated. One can of course write edgy comments about the Mind 2 but I judge Jolla personally how it handles the Jolla Phone sale and so far, customer service black hole aside, they are largely in plan.
Mind 2 customers are right to be in arms but but Jolla Phone customers aren’t by far and large. I mean if I e-mail bomb Jolla on the last day of June even though it was clearly articulated in a forum anouncement that the first deliveries will be on 8th of July for those at the Day 1, that is a choice.
Log in on commerce.jolla.com with the e-mail address you used for final payment that will tell you what the status is. When you swapped e-mails you drop to manual matching and that takes time. In your post you mention you order more then 1. Are all in the same batch? Did you order add-ons to your final order? Jolla has communicated (and yes that communication is spread through threads and comments) that Jolla tries to combine orders into 1 shipping package, so that you only have to pay shipment once. Isn’t that convenient? Downside is that if you order more then one item across multiple e-mail addresses it slows things down.
