Something with failed ini file read and consequently missing provider and authentication
And i can not uninstall it due to some problem with store.

A screenshot or some logs would help more.

Oh, I have the same error once I start it from terminal. Cover shows “Impossible de se connecter, veuillez réessayer” (Impossible to connect, please retry) and I’m unable to add a new location.
But, if it’s started from Notification page (long press on weather, click on Open app) or from App drawer, it works.

Ok, if it works if I start:
/usr/bin/sailjail -p sailfish-weather.desktop /usr/bin/sailfish-weather
Does your /usr/share/applications/sailfish-weather.desktop
looks like this one?
Seems to work, if i start it with sailjail
my not working deskrop…

XA2, 4.4 German
Just added Stavelot and Kuala Lumpur.
Works,
nice for you
so, cat sailfish-weather.desktop would show the correct content
vi would shown an empty file and tell me it is a new file
vi for any other desktop file would not do that.
so i did cp sailfish-weather.desktop sailfish-weather2.desktop
and then back,
then deleted 2nd file
and now weather app works.
so, desktop file was somehow corrupted, locked what ever.
thanks for the hints
A fried said it could be a simlink issue ?
I just looked on my 4.4 volla and it’s not a symlink. Contents were the same as you posted. Works here on at least one device. I’m sure I can break it in time.
yeah i think too. funny is: my fix worked once. now again no search.
i assume that to start that from cmdline using sailjjail will work again …
hmm
update from my side:
while app seems to work with mobile data only on, searching for new locations fails 99,9%
BUT when i am using wlan, searching for locations works
