I don’t undestand what you are saying? Transparent? This is voluntary, right? So you give an amount if you want to. Kind of like patreon, to support development of the OS.
What transparency do you want? Do you feel that not just having integer numbers is a sneaky and malicious thing? I agree that floating point is the work of the devil, but I don’t think there is any malicious intent here.
If you have to use psychological techniques even with the ones have to support you , you are not totally transparent with them.

This is a contradiction .
This contradiction born from the fact that we are used to this practice EVERY DAMN DAY EVERYWHERE. Because the “devil” marketing rules say so.
This community and this project should be different from all the rest or is always the same stuff with just an other vest? If is different SHOULD act different. (even in stuffs that you consider small like this one) .

From what I can see from afar , Jolla pone it self in a way where people that are tired to be tricked by the big companies (for which the first imperative is only profit) , can finally find transparency in the exchange (in this case money for phone and OS).

This argument is delicate. Not all the companies must act as the worst companies around. Not all the consumers must consume blindly as is per usual. Maybe I’m wrong , but is Jolla an alternative to the other companies or a simple substitute ? By how it act put this company in one side or the other.
