Volume controls not working when the screen is off

OS VERSION: 4.4.0.64
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 III
UI LANGUAGE: Swedish
REGRESSION: No?

DESCRIPTION:

I think this was reported way back on TJC, for something like the Jolla C.
Couldn’t find it here anyway…

PRECONDITIONS:

Listening to audio.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Lock screen
  2. Try to adjust volume

EXPECTED RESULT:

Volume is adjusted

ACTUAL RESULT:

Volume is not adjusted

MODIFICATIONS:

None

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Waking up the display (not even unlocking) makes it work.
This was ~50% reproducible on some older phone (Jolla C?), but have barely seen it recently.

Bug or feature? Volume control never worked for me when screen off on any of my used SF phones. I always assumed this is the intended behavior.

Bug, definitely a bug.
I use this all the time, and at least previously it also affected Bluetooth volume control (which couldn’t possibly be intentional).

It happens sometimes on Xperia 10 II too
