VoLTE / Data plan needed?

I have followed the discussion about VoLTE only marginally. Allow me to ask a simple question:

  • Does the use of VoLTE require a data plan option booked?

My old X10II should be used for voice only now and I wonder if the plan choose should include data albeit no internet access needed at the phone … thx!

No, you do not have to buy a data plan to use VoLTE.

VoLTE uses data, but it does not count against your plan.
