Volla Phone Quintus

Same for me. I would definitely buy it but only when it has full Jolla Support including Android App Support

As I unterstand it, Android support can potentially be realized via dualboot when @piggz community port would be released.
But its dual boot with all its advantages and disadvantages, no aliendalvik or no Waydroid

Im using waydroid on my quintus, with working camera.

Would love to see a video of that UX, is app multi-tasking, link opening etc standard ops working smooth? I have no first-hand xp with Waydroid yet

I think it can run like that, if you put in the effort to configuration. I just run it inside a single window, so it kinda looks like an android emulator.

It works well enough, that i was able to have a whatsapp video call with my wife, even the codecs appear to work.

Is it possible to put waydroid in a partner space? I imagine this would be pretty neat

it is a touching sight…
to see people optimistic about another over-priced generic chinese phone that won’t be any better than x10mk3

when did anyone ask?

Well, eh …
… according to the Quintus specs, the screen is much bigger and brighter than 10 mkiii

what’s the source of the claim that it’s another over-priced generic Chinese phone? Volla seems to specifically state that it’s not.

The specs day so. For the 500€ markup over an Oppo Reno 10 they could’ve thrown in at least an IP68 rating. Sure maintaining your own android fork costs money and time too, but other custom roms like CalyxOS, Graphene, /e/OS etc do it for cheaper and have about the same features.
