Videos in Bumble dating app not playing with AppSupport 13

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.73
HARDWARE: X10 III
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: Yes

DESCRIPTION:

Bumble allows users to upload pictures and short video clips to their profile. On tap, these usually display in a lightbox/play in a loop. This stopped working after AppSupport was updated to Android 13.

PRECONDITIONS:

Registration for Bumble is needed. It can be downloaded from the Aurora Store.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open Bumble
  2. Encounter a profile with a video, or upload one to own and preview it
  3. Try to play it by tapping the :play_button: button

EXPECTED RESULT:

The video should play with sound after tapping it.

ACTUAL RESULT:

The video is shown only as a blurred thumbnail with nonfunctional :play_button: and :muted_speaker: buttons.

MODIFICATIONS:

microG, AppSupport Keyguard Stub

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This used to work in AppSupport 11 (before 5.0.0.73 update), now the videos are nonfunctional in the same way as with Waydroid β€œ11” x86_64 (tested on Fedora) and Waydroid β€œ13” aarch64 (tested on postmarketOS) respectively.

Fixed in 5.0.0.76, thank you @Jolla

That update touched only Microsoft account support. Definitely not Jolla’s fault that it broke.

That makes sense. I conclude an update to the app (of which multiple had been published since March 11) is at fault then. And I see how a proprietary app that rarely documents changes is not exactly in the scope of Jolla to fix.

Edit: It really is the App which is at fault.
version 5.460.0 (3940): broken
version 5.461.0 (3945): works again
