Anyone is using any of the BeacomDB compatible APPs (all Android based) from their SFOS to scan and add data to the database?
I tried but donāt really know how it works, it connected to gps but in 20 minutes it did create nothing at all
Some suggestions to make it work?
Installed, tried to dend something, failed
So, i installed an app called tower collector from f-droid and it worked, all of a sudden, at the same time also neostumbler started working
I decided to stay with neostumbler (which is now working) cause i liked the interface more
Yesterday I tried both, Tower and NeoStumbler and, aparently, no one collect any data. Iāll give another chance to both apps.
Itās necesary any special configuration in microG?
I donāt have the slightest idea, surely you have to enable position in microg i suppose
Why would microg even come into play? Do those apps need google services??

had a try right now, the position is working even with microg disabled so i would say no
i do have another app which surprisingly requires microg for position, so probably i have missmatched it for that
so, i finally understood how neostumbler works, it needs to have access to position for the gps and to calls for retrieving cell data
i tried disabling access to calls but then the app just does nothing, if access to calls is given back, it almost immediately starts to collecting beacons
i have only tried with cellular data by the way and not with wifi

retried today, did enable calls but still nothing recorded.
did find the fix button in settings, added rights to detect nearby ā¦ but nothing yet
Well, iāve taked the app from f-droid, try using that
It misses some options (like the āstart collecting when movingā which is tied to gplay it seems but it works, i just have to manually start the app collectingā¦

In the sense that you were able to make it work?if so, very nice
I donāt get anyway, why the app is collecting beacons even when a beacon in the same position was already collected but i guess itās fineā¦
On a side note
Iām not 100% sure, but i have the feeling that beacondb is really helping my xa2 to connect to the gps
Itās still slow, but iām seeing an higher succes rate in connecting from when i installed it, and seems to connect to more satellites
But i need some other user to confirm my theory as maybe itās just a feeling (like the one when you update and everything is smoother, then after two days everything is back to normal 
)
No it did nog work, today neither
It did work. You need only two things. Live mobile network for cell number and GPS with fix for location. Tower app is more reliable.
i observed that tower app catches so called ālow accuracyā measurements, and āhigh accuracyā ones
i thought maybe neostumbler only catches high accuracy ones
still itās working for me, with the correct permissions (calls above all)
