Uninstalling/removing Android 12 - X10 III

Hi all,
This may be an obvious question, but I’ve resisted installing Android on my X10 III and am curious if I do take the plunge, how easy, or not is it to remove or uninstall it should I prefer vanilla?

I have another phone (ahem) for my “apps”

Thanks all

I do not understand the question:

  • do you want to reflash Android on a Xperia 10 iii with currently SFOS on it?
  • what does Vanilla mean, what is your context, vanilka Android? AOSP, stock Sony Android???
  • reflashing from a Linux machine?

Sure: currently I have only SFOS and am thinking I’ll try Android.
If I prefer just SFOS, Is it possible to remove or does the phone require flashing again?

You will need to reflash. The procedure depends on the OS of your PC, you will find useful links here in the forum or Jolla instructions.
You can change OS and switch between Android and SFOS only by flashing, no multiboot option as on PCs or some Jolla phones

I suspect @lakeboy is trying to say Android App Support, but for some reason stopping at just “Android” which is a different thing. But i could be wrong.

Yeah - I just found this

Seems rather unnecessary to uninstall unless you are trying to recover from having broken it. You can just uninstall the apps you don’t need, and stop AAS.

And additionally do not make it start automatically at boot. That’s it.

It does take a few hundred MB of storage space but totally worth it imho.

I see, I am sorry I misunderstood that completely…
