I installed MicroG some weeks ago, hoping to be able to perform WhatsApp backups. Somehow, it did not work as I expected (it takes ages and sometimes it is not even able to perform them). In other words, I do not trust it.
I would then like to go back to the alternative for local Backups (which can be copied via USB). I have to reflash the phone and it would be a big inconvenient to lose all my messages…
WhatsApp does not allow me to select between “online” or “local” backups. So I suppose, that if I delete the gmail account the local alternative would reappear.
However, if I try to delete the account from microG, it says that all the account related information will be deleted, which makes me worry about all my WhatsApp conversations.
Is there anyone who knows how to properly remove MicroG and re-establish the Local Backup possibility in WhatsApp?
