Unable remove meecast after update 4.5 0.24

After update 4.5.0.24 meecast shows : Invalid authentication credentials. And I can’t uninstall it.

I couldn’t get it to work either, so I tried to delete it with the intention of reinstalling it to see if that fixed the issue. Found in the end you have to delete the ‘extras’ (events view, lock screen, etc) first, then the daemon, reboot, then delete the app itself. Reinstalling meecast after that in the reverse order to deletion fixed it all for me and now working again. Don’t know why it worked in that order, but it did for me.
