Yes! I have now managed to reestablish my Jolla customer account and thus finally found the C2 Sailfish OS Jolla image / zip file, a 2GB zipfile which is now downloading slowly… Instructions for installing on the C2 is not found, only for various Xperias, which are all said to have to be androids…
I guess one of my various Linux pc’s are the best alternatives to install from… but I also have one Macbook and a Windows physical pc, i addition to several VMs on all the machines… What do you consider the best candidate to install from?

Huh? It is the same as for the phone and on this forum unless you very deliberately make extra accounts. And for this exercise, it doesn’t even matter which account is used, as per above.
They are inside the zip file.

Thanks for info and advice! The Linuxes I prefer now are Debian, PureOS, Fedora and OpenSuse… I guess one of them will suffice…

I always work with Debian and it works really fine. But on flashing, i made the observation, that it doesn’t work in CLI when navigating as user to the dir where the flashfiles are, and then perform
sudo bash ./flash.sh
but it works fine when you become root in CLI with su command, then go to the directory where the flashfiles are, then execute
bash ./flash.sh
without sudo.
This makes a big difference because the command as user with sudo doesn’t find the USB port properly while as real root it works as intended.
To be clear, the permanently locked device only occurs when the unlock code is entered incorrectly several times on the first input screen after powering on the device from a shutdown state (i.e., entering the password to decrypt the home partition in order to boot further)?
I’m asking because someone here in the forum told me that entering the (second) screen unlock code incorrectly several times can be fixed by shutting down the device and restarting it.
Yesterday I flashed it using sudo and got the phone working again, now I have a lot of work with it and new installments to make, I wish it would suffice to keep it as a pure linux instead of using android support, but that seems to be too modest…
