Timer UX improve

while i create alarm - it autostarts right after creation - which is OK. when i create timer, for example to know when my wash clthes is finished,or when i have to pull out thebakery out of my oven - i create timer - and forgetting to switch it on manually. when i had android - i didn’t have such. problem, because it was switching on right after creation. so the ask is to have timer auto started right after creation.

No, can we not have this, please? I’m very happy with how it is because I don’t create a brand new timer like you have to do in Android or iOS, I reuse them.

If anything, you can ask that this becomes configurable, but don’t suggest to ruin an experience that works perfectly well for at least some of us.

Ok then, and why then alarm works in the opposite way?

The flow is not consistent with itself.

But do you really create timers beforehand without using them? When I create a timer, it’s because I need a timer to run, right now. (And because I don’t already have one for that specific delay.) I think OP’s suggestion makes sense and it is in line with how alarms work.

Yes, because I can plan. And so can many other people. My argument is that if you request features, it should be for additional configurability.

I agree also until it became a endless configuration river like in the android

me too - i create timer when i need it

Fair enough. I do reuse timers when they match my current need, and I understand timers that autostart would be annoying while you are setting up a new phone.

I still think the create+run scenario makes a lot of sense when I put something in the oven, or let it simmer on the stove. Quite often I need a reminder I haven’t already used. (Then I keep it for the next time I need it.)

This shit has to be fixed. I create timer over and over again - and then when my food is burned down - i realized that after timer creation - it wasnt even started. Maybe add on by default chekbox “Start immediately”

While I prefer the current way it works, the checkbox idea could actually work. Default state can be debated but just the checbkox being there would be a good reminder to turn the timer on.

and doesnt inflate the current UX flow
