Tickbox in landing page (WiFi) can't be ticked

REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): 100%
BUILD ID = OS VERSION: 4.2 (and before)
HARDWARE: XA2
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: No

DESCRIPTION:

Whenever I try to connect to public WiFi (e.g. in shops like IKEA etc.) there is a notification that tells me to log in with a landing page. The landing page appears in Sailfish browser but I can’t confim the terms of conditions since the checkbox doesn’t accept my tick.

PRECONDITIONS:

Log in onto open WiFi networks

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Connect to the open WiFi
  2. Let the landing page open
  3. try to confirm the terms conditions to connect to the internet

EXPECTED RESULT:

Checkbox does accept the tick and shows a hook

ACTUAL RESULT:

Checkbox doesn’t accept the tick and no hook appears

I’ve reported the same bug before as well: Cannot check checkboxes in the captive portal browser

I hadn’t tested it on 4.2 yet myself. It’s a bummer it still exists in this version.

As a possible work-around:
Did you try turning the phone from landscape to portrait or vice versa?
Can you check the check-box in the (new) desktop-mode of the browser?

(sorry I cannot test myself because I yet have to come across this issue)

Hey ahappyhuman,

thank you for this advice - I will try this next time.

Another bad workaround is to copy the ip and past it into Firefox (Android). Sometimes this helps. But it is not an appropriate solution …

I tried this morning in a train in Germany (DB) with 4.2.
No success :frowning:
