The Other Half Returns — Community Innovation Program

Very cool idea, you should raise this question in community meeting!

I would love to see a Cardock/hw-bridge that could interface to android auto. Or just enable a car mode on the phone itself when plugged in the dock, making it easy to switch from audioplayer to navigation.

This has nothing to do with hardware…

Well, If i was a Computer engineer i would build what i want, not throw an idea at a puplic forum as my first post.

Looking forward to my jollaphone in end of september. but i really hope the comunity is more constructive than this reply.

Someone is (trying to) get Android Auto to work with postmarketOS, maybe in the future we could borrow that from them:

From the Commodore Callback FAQ:

Android Auto support is currently in development and has not yet been confirmed for launch. We are making encouraging progress, but we will only list it as supported once it has passed our compatibility testing.

Not sure if this would be more Protective Cover or TOH topic, but a simple integrated magnetic back cover for car holders would be great.

Yes I can slap a 2 € magnetic plate slab on the back of the cover, but…

such unbranded meh.

If so, then magsafe compatible please. Stronger holders.

Not that I would know, but there is a drawing with relevant dimensions on Jolla Phone TOH | Sailfish OS Documentation

The retention clips are not yet specified in this drawing though.

Hmm, so it supports charging and discharging… Time to make a 500g brick from Jolla Phone with a total of 50Wh batteries effective xD

I raised it for the next meeting, but a bit past the deadline. Let’s see what comes out of it! Community meeting on July 16, 2026 - #11 by KuroNeko

Would it be too silly to put tiny motorized wheels on TOH?

Yeah it would. But you can still do it and send a picture.

No, it’s very useful. After snoozing your alarm once it drives away for the next alarm.
