I was already about to move this to bug reports as regression.
But as this is a regression of a new feature I just let it stay as feature request?

What I observed is:
bookmarking (starring) a web site and only then from the bookmarks long-pressing and adding to app grid works as expected and adds an icon to app grid (as working since years).

Only when using the new menu button ‘Add to app grid’ there is this meaningless blue-white star.

Old way works as expected so I’m moving it to Bug reports

Might not be best thread, but does anyone know how to add web page to app grid from android browser?

Only manually by creating an appropriate apkd_launcher*.desktop file in ~/.local/share/applications.

And it’s not as trivial as just adding the URL to the Exec line.

I guess you’d have to figure out how apkd-launcher works. Let us know if you do.

This is exactly what I was afraid off. Thank you for info! Have to see when I find time to study this matter more deeply

I should amend my previous comment:

I only tested with the DDG browser from F-droid. It has a share button but no obvious “create menu shortcut” button.

One would have to try with a browser that has this functionality built in and see what happens.

I tried with Firefox from Aurora. Button is missing, but exist on android phone. Vivaldi has the button visible but nothing happens
